Stitch Media is an interactive production studio with headquarters in Halifax and Toronto that works with traditional media partners (television, film, music, books) to create cross-media experiences. We are a small company that brings together many different teams to create projects that push the boundaries of what’s possible online.
We are seeking a Junior Producer to start in October 2008 on a 2-month probationary contract that will transition into full-time employment. This position is open to applicants in both Toronto and Halifax, to work at our offices in either one of the two cities. The role will involve working directly with the senior team at Stitch Media along with its partners to coordinate the team and manage overall flow of communication. A creative mind is a must; as a junior producer you will help to develop some of our concepts and help put together proposals for projects that span all forms of media! From working on national documentaries to developing international alternate reality games, our ideal candidate will have unconventional ideas with the drive to make them happen. Common tasks would include email correspondence, conference calls, meetings and generating documents to keep everyone informed.
Skills required for this position:
-A strong initiative to seek out new challenges and deal with unpredictable situations
-Exceptional communication skills (professional writing and speaking)
-Time-management skills (work independent to a schedule and keep others on track)
-Computer fluency (any additional skills beyond clerical are a plus, but not required)
-Interest in getting involved in media sector, especially cross-media
-The ability to fit more in one day than many accomplish in two!
Nice to have qualities:
-Any technical skills in the following HTML/XML/CSS/PHP/MySQL, Photoshop/Illustrator
-Relevant experience in cross-media production (please list companies and/or projects)
