Podcamp Halifax Open to Contributors

The social media community in Halifax is gearing up for its first podcamp on January 25 at Alderney Gate Library. The event is a free unconference that operates under the principal of being open for anyone to participate. The line between presenter/attendee will be blurred. Many of the topics will reflect the idea of social media being an accessible community-building tool where everyone can share their ideas and opinions.

A wiki where you can book a conference room to give a presentation is up at http://podcamphalifax2009.pbwiki.com/. The spots are getting filled up with lots of interesting topics and speakers ranging from unfriending people in social media to open work spaces.

I was looking forward to attending, but unfortunately will not be in town when the event takes place. I expect this will be a big success and more similar events will follow.
